Partnering with E.ON Italia for the 2024 Sustainability Report

A strategic and open document that tells the story of the transition through data, vision and dialogue. Amapola shaped both the structure and the content.
There’s a way of talking about sustainability that goes beyond listing facts and figures—it connects them to a long-term vision, to people, and to the territories involved. That’s the path we’ve taken with E.ON Italia for the 2024 Sustainability Report: a voluntary reporting project that is becoming increasingly strategic, concrete and participatory year after year. The report is part of a voluntary reporting journey launched in 2021, confirming E.ON Italia’s ongoing commitment to transparency and dialogue beyond regulatory compliance.
We supported the company as a knowledge partner, overseeing every key stage of the process—from the initial gap analysis to document structure, from data collection to content development.
Numbers that speak of impact
The Sustainability Report is a vital tool to share E.ON Italia’s progress and future goals in environmental, social and governance matters with stakeholders and communities alike. In 2024, the company delivered around 4.5 TWh of electricity, nearly 2 TWh of which came from renewable sources—an increase of 22% compared to the previous year. On the environmental front, E.ON Italia avoided 970,000 tonnes of CO₂ and reduced its Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 31.3% compared to 2019.
The social impact is just as tangible: over one million customers served, 658 employees in Italy who completed 4,500 hours of training and contributed 1,240 hours of volunteer work; 22,000 students reached through educational programmes, 135,000 trees planted, and €550,000 invested in local communities.
An open and dialogue-driven report
We designed a clear, streamlined structure that flows through identity, strategy, results and impact, using a straightforward and accessible language. This report isn’t just made to be read—it’s made to spark dialogue, reflection and meaningful exchange.
A key feature of the 2024 edition was the impact materiality assessment process, which we supported through qualitative interviews with a selected group of external stakeholders. These included experts in corporate sustainability, digital innovation, social inclusion, sport and social impact—offering valuable perspectives to help E.ON Italia define its most relevant ESG priorities.
Interviewees included:
• Mara Panajia, President & CEO of Henkel Italia
• Stefano Epifani, Professor of Digital Sustainability – University of Pavia
• Andrea Pusateri, Paralympic athlete
• Igor Šuran, Executive Director, Parks – Liberi e Uguali
