Inclusion and gender equality: Ecocerved teams up with Amapola for a DEI training programme

A webinar and a participatory workshop to raise awareness across the company on diversity, equity and inclusion – and to strengthen corporate culture.
Building a more inclusive and aware workplace is a key challenge for any organisation that wants to play a leading role in an increasingly sustainability-focused market. With this in mind, Ecocerved has chosen Amapola as its partner for a training initiative focused on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), actively involving people across the company. The initiative was developed by the PASSI Committee – an internal working group made up of employees who promote cultural change from the ground up, through active listening and practical proposals for sustainable organisational growth.
Raising awareness and taking action
Ecocerved, a consortium company of the Italian Chambers of Commerce, specialises in developing information systems for environmental management and has spent the last 30 years supporting businesses and institutions in the transition to sustainability. Alongside its longstanding commitment to circular economy and social innovation, Ecocerved has launched a training programme with Amapola to explore DEI principles, with a particular focus on how they relate to wellbeing at work and organisational performance. This training is part of a wider commitment to DEI issues, with the company currently working towards certification for gender equality under the UNI/PdR 125:2022 standard.
The programme included a webinar and a hands-on workshop, covering key topics such as relevant legislation, international best practices, and the invisible barriers that still stand in the way of true inclusion.
Inclusion and diversity as drivers of growth
“Inclusion isn’t just an ethical value – it’s a strategic lever that can make a real difference for organisations,” says Emilia Blanchetti, head of Amapola’s DEI division. “Recent studies show that diverse teams perform better in terms of innovation, productivity and decision-making. Through this programme, we wanted to highlight how investing in DEI policies can generate tangible benefits – both for people and for the business as a whole.”
The power of engagement
One of the most valuable parts of the project was the participatory workshop involving Ecocerved’s employees. This practical session offered space to share ideas and suggestions for improving internal policies, encouraging open and constructive dialogue. Thanks to this collaborative approach, the company has laid the groundwork for an even more respectful and equitable working environment – one that recognises and values everyone’s contribution. The session was facilitated by Amapola’s team of DEI experts.
Amapola supported Ecocerved throughout every phase of the project – from content development to the design and delivery of the training sessions – combining technical know-how with participatory methods. The programme provided a valuable opportunity to embed a culture of equity and sustainability within the company. With Amapola’s support, Ecocerved has opened up a meaningful dialogue between employees and the PASSI Committee, encouraging reflection and new proposals to help the organisation become even more inclusive.
