Guido arrived in Amapola after a singular twenty-year career spent alternating between newspaper desks, press offices and kitchens.

Catering is Guido’s first love, starting from when he was at university (studying modern literature). He worked at Moreno’s “La Smarrita” and the Whist Circle in Turin, at “Le Boudin Blanc” in London, and held cookery courses in and outside Italy. These were important years during which he learned the importance of teamwork, working to a schedule and attention to clients.

His first experience in journalism was in 2005, with the Torino Centro and La Piazza free press publications, followed the following year by a collaboration with the Acta Consulting communication agency.

From 2007 to 2011 he was Turin correspondent for La Repubblica’s Metropoli supplement on immigration, where he developed a keen interest in social issues. He edited articles and investigations for the local and national paper and online editions. He also collaborated with the newspaper’s Rome office on the same issues.

Meanwhile he worked with the municipal press office of Venaria Reale (Turin) and was managing editor of the town’s official web TV, www.venaria.tv.

After returning to his old love of catering as chef at the Teapot bistrot in Turin, Guido worked as a reviewer for Tannico.it, a well-known wine e-commerce site, and was involved in political communication campaigns.

Guido joined Amapola in 2017, to work in storytelling and food-related content. As an account executive, he quickly expanded his range of activities to a wide variety of fields, including cosmetics, robotics, engineering and software.

He combines his communication work with the other Amapolers with a mad passion for writing novels and short stories.
