RESPONSIBILITY LOOKS TO THE FUTURE: THE THIRD ALFASIGMA SUSTAINABILITY REPORT

Alfasigma, a leading pharmaceuticals player, continues its sustainability reporting project with the assistance, for the third consecutive year, of Amapola. The agency accompanies the Bologna-based group as it transitions to sustainability by providing strategic support on key issues and flanking the Steering Committee on the production of the Sustainability Report, on coordinating listening and internal engagement activities, on stakeholder engagement and on ESG data collection.

The title of Alfasigma’s 2021 Sustainability Report pays tribute to the words and spirit of the company founder, Marino Golinelli, who died recently: responsibility looks to the future. These are the two dimensions on which Alfasigma is building its sustainability program: the first is expressed in the Group’s passion for its business and for people, as well as in attention to stakeholders and the determination to always put “patients first”; the second is its commitment to scientific research and innovation.

The 2021 Sustainability Report highlights the Group’s many activities: its social responsibility initiatives for the community and associations, its projects – like the Alfasigma Millennial Advisory Board – for Alfasigma people and the new generations growing up in the company, the results of its environmental activities and impact reduction, and all its R&D activities and open innovation work.

The Amapola project

Amapola managed every area of the Alfasigma Report: from data collection, together with the in-house team, to copywriting, editing and graphic design. Although the new publication comes into the category of voluntary reports, it was produced in compliance with the latest international standards. Attention to stakeholders has increased too, through listening and engagement activities in the form of ad hoc interviews on questions of key significance for the company.

To highlight Alfasigma’s corporate history and identity, the 2021 Report is enhanced with rich iconographic content reproducing the contemporary art works on permanent display in the offices and factories of the Alfasigma organisation. A decision that reflects the company’s attention to beauty and its artistic and cultural dimension.

The Report graphics are designed to optimise presentation of the data: the photos of the artworks and the sections of text interact, alternating with tables and summaries presenting 2021 highlights, for a simple, comprehensive narrative in a document that is easy to read and understand.

To bring the company’s sustainability “to life”, Amapola also produced a video in collaboration with the Corporate Communication office, which looks at Alfasigma’s “Sustainable value”, illustrating the main elements of the three ESG pillars in just over a minute and a half.

To reach the widest possible audience, Amapola also design a pocket version to ensure maximum accessibility to the Report content. The synopsis will be translated into English to enable its use in the Group’s international offices.
